DAY 282 - Don't Cry for me I'm a dead Lady

Another show! Each night before we go on stage I get to hang out with Holly Jo chillin' in her coffin. It's a really good way to get pumped up for the show! I'm actually kind of jealous of her, it looks real comfy in there. Moments after this picture was taken I'm on stage hearing the news of Evita's death and emote all over the place.

DAY 281 - Kickin' it Old School

Amanda Kjar, a friend of mine from high school arranged a little get together for a bunch of us Viewmont High class of '95 grads... yes that's right class of 95. Sounds so wrong. I joke that I live like I'm 24, but I think I'm really starting to believe I am 24. As much as I enjoyed seeing people again, I really don't feel like I fit in with that group anymore. Not that I ever really fit in that well before, but now its even more of a divide. Amanda's house is about 2 or 3 blocks away from where she grew up, its a big "parents" type house. I can't believe friends my age live in houses like that. Wasn't just a starter home, and she has 4 kids, Heather has 4 as well. Mandi's oldest is 11!!! I felt a little out of place. But I really didn't feel bad about myself. I used to be jealous and compare myself to my friends that "had it all together." But I realized my life is going how I want it to. I liked going out and jumping in my little Acura that was surrounded by mini-vans. It was fun to tell them that I am hoping to live downtown again, or maybe Chicago, so many options for me. I know they are all happy with their lives too, we all have taken our own paths and each path is the right one for that person. Maybe I am growing up a little bit.

DAY 269 - Argentina wasn't built in 12 hours!

Tech day = hell on earth. Today was the day that starts off "Hell Week" 12 hours of rehearsal 8am-8pm. And we pretty much used every moment. We had pictures, then a run through to set light cues which took about 5 hours, then a little lunch break... During the lunch break Holly Jo and I wanted to slip away to get a drink. We had invited our friend Sean and I made the mistake of asking really loud if he was still going to come with us. He said "no" but another random cast member overheard and invited herself. Holly Jo and I spent a 10 minute awkward car ride to Starbucks with this strange cast member I'd never really talked to before. She spout out obscenties and told awkward stories of her personal life. Holly Jo and I both sat there wide eyed looking at each other trying to hold back the laughter... Gotta love a good awkward situation.

After lunch we did another run through with both casts.... It was a freakin' long day. And the show pretty much sucks... well the leads are real good, but the rest of it, not so good.

DAY 253 - A Fair to Remember

Nothin' like the State Fair to make pretty much everyone feel like plain white trash... That's what I like about the fair, everyone is equal. The fair proves everything can be fried, and that great works of art can be created by anyone. For example, what good Christian frat house wouldn't want a "Come Unto Me" paddle hanging on the wall?

DAY 252 - 09/09/09 9:09

Today was Sept 9th, so 09/09/09 and at exactly 9:09 PM I was sitting at Evita rehearsal... Peter (the musical director) was probably yelling some constructive criticism such as "YOU SUCK!!!" But anyway, 09.09.09 at 9:09 looked pretty much just like everyday the past month. Seems like all I do is go to work and then to rehearsal. What I sacrifice for art.

Day 242 - Goodbye City Life!

Just as Sam Malone did at Cheers, and Jack, Janet and Terri did in their Santa Monica apartment, and just like Chandler and Monica did at their Greenwich Village apartment, tonight I turned out the lights on my fabulous apartment in the avenues for the last time.

It was a very emotional day, I kind of felt like it wasn't really going to happen so I didn't think to prepare. I had boxed a few things up the night before, and figured I just had the big stuff to move, I was wrong. I had so much more than I thought. Since I wasn't very organized and didn't really have a plan, I didn't want to ask for help. I moved almost everything out by myself. Brandy stopped by for a minute to help me with my bed. It took the entire day and numerous truck rides to Centerville, I was moving non-stop. Then I spent hours scrubbing and cleaning. By the time I was done I was beat and an emotional wreck. I really loved living in this area, and kind of felt a little bit like a loser for moving back in with the parents. I may have had a few break downs caused by a mixture of exhuastion and toxic fumes.

I really have loved living in the city and I loved living in the nunnery! It has been a life changing experience. You wouldn't think moving 15 minutes away from where you grew up would be that big of a deal. But there is definitely a different feel living downtown. Although Utah isn't known for its diversity, it's a little refreshing to be in the city where there's not such a concentrated group of the same type people, it interesting to meet people with different ideas and opinions. It was also so awesome to be within walking distance to really everything you would need. I know I will be back again some day, and hopefully the next time I'll be there to stay.

DAY 240 - It's the last game night, its the boom squish!

One of the first weekends I was in my apartment we had a game night, it only seemed fitting that we have a final game night before I move back to the DC (Davis County). Just like we did last year, we had some Papa Murphy's take and bake pizza and some giant drinks. It was a good time, bitter sweet. I love my little dinning room, was perfect for dinner parties and game nights.

DAY 228 - C ya NYC!

My last day in New York... tragically sad! I went into the city and rented a bike, the rode up and down the Hudson River Parkway, also rode through parts of Chelsea and Greenwich Village. When I'm in New York again I'm getting a bike for an entire day. Was so easy to get around and you get to see so much, rather than just riding below ground in a hot smelly subway. I also went to MOMA, but didn't have much time... I have to go back real soon, so much to see and not enough time.

To see all my pics go to my facebook page and look at the New York album.

DAY 225 - Losin' my HAIR!

Today I met up with Nancy, James and Jeff for lunch. I felt so New Yorky. Nancy and I were trying to find each other, so we kept calling each other saying things like "I'm on the corner of 5th Ave and 42nd st" and "I'll meet you on Broadway" I loved it, every minute of it. After lunch we tried to win lottery tickets to "Hair" but we weren't as lucky as we had been the last 2 days (we won tickets for 9 to 5 again yesterday). So unfortunately I didn't get to see it. I guess this as close as I'll ever get to Gavin Creel. I did end up going to this funky dance, cirque de sole type show. You stood for the whole thing, then they would wrangle you around for different little spectacles. At one point a giant swimming pool thing was lowered down from above. Everyone had to get on there knees it came down so far, there were these three ladies doing these swishy water movements right above you. It was odd, but nothing I would ever go see or do in Utah, so of course I liked it.

DAY 223 - I Wanna Be A Part Of It!

YAY!!!! I made it, Look at me in Times Square. The first night in my week long visit to the best city in the world. It's off to a great start. We won lottery tickets to "9 to 5" we were on the 6th row. I loved it!!! It may be closing, but it was so much fun. Alison Janney, Megan Hilty and Stephanie Block. They were all awesome, after the show we enjoyed a big ole piece of Juniors cheese cake in the middle of Times Square.
This is a picture of Me and Stephanie Block, who played Judy Burnley, the Jane Fonda role, she is also known for playing Elphoba in Wicked... I like to call this picture "battle of the spray tans."

DAY 221 - The morning after

We made it through the night! Just a few roots in the back, some barking dogs and unseasonably cold weather, but the camp out was a success! I loved it, Brandy has the perfect backyard for camping. Big tress, water features, fire pit, and drunkin neighbors. Who'd have thunk such an oasis existed in the heart of South Salt Lake.
Happy 35th Brandy! Next year will be even better!

Saturday, August 8, 2009

DAY 220 - Brandy's Birthdy Bogo Pogo!

Brandy's birthday celebration lasted most of the week. We had dinner at the Red Iguana one night, then she had several other events, but the finale to the week long festivities was the birthday camp out in her back yard. We had cake and watched "Strictly Ballroom" on the big projector outside.

DAY 206 - Mi! A name I call myself!

So I was invited to a "Sound of Music" Party. I was told it was a big costume party and everyone was going to be dressing up like their favorite character and the such. I was also told to bring a dish to share that went with the theme. I stressed about the costume. I didn't want to go to over the top, and I didn't want to put much effort into it, and I'm really not a huge Sound of Music fan. So after a little thought I decided I would go as "Mi" a name I call myself. So I got a generic white shirt and ironed on "Mi" I also made some lemon drop cupcakes and called them "drop of golden sun" cupcakes. When I arrived at the party, NOBODY was dressed up, and I only knew 2 people. The pot luck was mainly middle eastern type food, nothing to do with Sound of Music. I spent most of the night sitting awkwardly quiet on a large sectional leather couch smashed between two strangers on a very hot July night... my arms and sides were drenched and I was pretty much stuck to the couch by the time movie was done.

DAY 204 - Ken will be singing as he walks, and walks and walks, and waaaaalks.

On this fine Pioneer Day Eve I thought it would be fun to drive along 2nd East and see all the people camping out in anticipation for tomorrow's big parade. Apparently a young man from Taylorsville was also engrossed in the excitement, or possibly texting members of his young mens group to see where they were camped out and making bets on whether or not their Stake's Float was going to take home the Larry H. Miller memorial grand prize win. Whatever the reason, he was not paying attention, and his old school 80's Ford Bronco plowed into my little Mazda 6. It smunched it pretty good. I wasn't able to drive it, it had to be towed away. Poor little Ken couldn't get a hold of anyone to come pick him up, so he gathered all the belongings he could hold in his hand, then hung his head low and walked the long 5 block journey home... Now I know how the mormons must have felt.

DAY 201 - They went to Europe and all I got was this chocolate bar?!

Clete and Greg spent 3 weeks traveling Europe and Scandanavia. Tonight was the first time I'd seen them since they got back... They brought me some real Swiss Chocolate... Yum!!! It was soooo good. Smooth and creamy.

Saturday, July 18, 2009

DAY 199 - Park City has a Whorehouse in it!

Jess, Tyson and I went up to see "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" at the Egyptian Theater in Park City. We had a big case of the church giggles and got some not so pleasant looks from those sitting around us. The show was..... well, it was entertaining. Especially to us, we found it very amusing, and maybe not the way they had intended. The music was good, and everyone was real talented, just a little interesting choreography.... and maybe the show's a little cheesey to begin with. Dolly, Burt and Dom may be the only people that can actually pull it off.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

DAY 195 - Smores you think you can dance?

Smores and So You Think You Can Dance at Brandy's. And obviously Cassie Pickle and I can dance somethin' fierce! The beauty of it really... It has such a bold statement. Cassie represents fear and I am courage rising and kicking fear in the gut... seek happiness!

Monday, July 13, 2009

DAY 194 - The Blair Witch Trampoline

This pictures looks kinda creepy, like jumping on the trampoline at the Blair Witch's house. But really its Clete and Greg's backyard. They were in Sweden and I would stop by from time to time to borrow the DVR and watch my stories, then do a little trampoline jumping late into the night. It's really not creepy, and looks perfectly normal during the day.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

DAY 193 - There's only one Lagoon... for the 2nd time!

Several summers have passed since I have been to Lagoon multiple times. When I was a kid we were there several times a week.... What were we thinking?? I went twice this year, and the second time I was all ready kind of over it. Alane and I went to see Josh Brodis in one of the shows. We spent most of the time in Pioneer Village at the little BBQ place just chatting, and then just rode the sky ride... Mainly because I only had an entrance pass and I was too chicken to try and sneak on to any of the big time rides.

Day 192 - Games in O-town

Had a little game night at Nick and Lance's. Bid farewell to Melissa and Liji as they head off to India for a year or more.

I made some tasty cupcakes. Chocolate frosted ones had cookie dough in the center and the ones with the others had a peanut butter filling. YUM

DAY 190 - Guess your not going to play me a song Piano Man!

It was a musical evening fer sure! I went with Brandy to the Twilight Concert at Gallivan Center. I didn't know any of the music, it was Jenny Lewis, all I know is that she was in "Troupe Beverly Hills" with the vastly talented Shelly Long! Shortly before we left I heard the "old gang" was going to be meeting at Keys on Main later on to watch the dueling piano show. So after the concert we walked back up to my house, I changed and went back down to Keys on Main and met Latoya, Jess, Ty, Andrew, Liz and Matt for the show. It was a a good time. I have been to the Tavernacle, which is also another dueling piano bar. I personally think it was a lot more fun. The piano players were a lot more entertaining and seemed to have a better repertior.

I wasn't sure of the etiquette, so I gave them $3 for my request....but apparently that was offensive, they require more. I was extremely bitter that I paid $3 to hear a bunch of other people's lame requests. Every time there was a lull, I would rub my finger nails together and yell out "stumble out of bed grab a cup of ambition..." trying to inspire them to play my 9 to 5 request... But to no avail. We decided to leave around 11. But overall it was a good time, I've always wanted to go there, now I have.

DAY 189 - I See London I See France...

Latoya is all settled in to her condo. Yay for her, so tonight she had us all over for a little housewarming. I guess you're suppose to bring a gift to something like that. I didn't though, I brought Sun Chips.. I think that counts, its not really a home until you have the crisp, baked not fried, whole grain goodness available for your consumption.

It was another night of sitting around reminiscing and possibly making fun of people. Of course not in a mean spirited manner. It has been a lot of fun having the Noyes family around, I've seen Liz, Jan and Dave more this trip than I have in years. What a treat.. really it is.

We took several pictures, but I must have a x-ray vision flash, cause every time we took a picture on my camera you could see the whites of Liz's unmentionables shining through her black shirt...hence the censorship.

DAY 188 - Moon Walkin'

Have I mentioned Tuesdays are a bit blah to me. They lack the utter depression of a Monday, but come too early for midweek celebration. Therefore it is Tuesday, I was not utterly depressed nor celebratory...does celebratory mean: to celebrate, or does it mean: obstaining from sexual relations? Either way, there was no celebration nor sexual relations, if you must know... geez you blog people are so nosey!

I took a stroll over to Clete and Greg's to get their mail for them since they are vacationing in Scandanavia. Then I meandered slowly home taking in the sights of this beautiful summers eve. I love living in the Avenues and tried to capture some of the mysterious charm of the neighborhood on this moon lit night. The picture isn't blurry, the building was... I promise... mysterious...oooooo

Today was also an important day in pop culture history. It was Michael Jackson's memorial service. I was an average fan of Michael, I have tried to do the zombie thriller dance and moon walk at social events. I have some of his albums, and I enjoy them. But I was not a super fan by any means. But whenever some big event like this occurs I get sucked into the media frenzy, not going to lie. I'm one of those people that are bringing up the ratings so that the news stations are focusing on this event rather than the rioting in Iran or the collapsing government in Honduras. Those things happen all the time, but the King of Pop only dies once. I spent 4 hours of my work day streaming coverage on CNN, NBC, and CBS. I needed the view of the funeral procession from all angles. I had to watch the constant replays of Mariah Carey's vocal debacle, but touching performance, Brooke Shields heartfelt goodbye, and Jennifer Hudsons amazing rendition of "Will You Be There." I can't help myself, I even got teary eyed at the creepy family tribute when little Paris proclaimed her love for her dad.

We all know Michael Jackson was kind of weird, but he had an abnormal childhood and probably not very good role models. If we trust in the judicial system he was proven innocent to all of the accusations, and I wasn't there and don't have all the information about that so I can't make a judgement. I just choose to remember him as he was in the early days, when he was thanking the girls in the balcony and when my sister Kelli and her best friend Cheri would call each other on the phone every time they showed him sitting in the audience on the grammy awards one year. He really was unique and will live on forever.

DAY 187 - Its so hard to be Softh

Today I went to lunch with a friend of mine at the Sandy Betos. When placing my order I reviewed the menu carefully, as I'm not good at the decision making process. I decided I was quite thirsty and I was happy to see that the combo meal came "with softh drink." I was so excited to find out what a softh drink was like... turns out its much the same as a soft drink, but with more of a lisp.

DAY 186 - Bless You and Your Sticky Toes

Matt and Lisa blessed little baby Cash today.  It's always nice to get together with the old gang.  Can't believe that we're all grown up, we've known each other almost 20 years!  Crazy!!  Too bad I don't have any pics from back in the day, it was even an ordeal to try to get this one taken.  Luckily we were able to get everyone together between the mothers milk expressing sessions.

After the little open house Jess, Tyson and I headed out to PF Chengs for some dinner then to see Away We Go at the Broadway.  I love that movie, and I love Jess and Tyson, such a fun and funny couple.  I love seeing movies at the Broadway Centre too, its so classy.  The little Asian man with his tight Khaki shorts had to fix the coke machine so we could get our beverages, it caused a little leakage and spraying soda.  When we finally had our drinks and headed into the theater we heard the nice lady from behind the counter say.. "I have the stickiest toes ever!"  I hope to never hear that phrase again in my life.

DAY 183 - Skeerin' up a mess of sumthin'

So this picture pretty much sums up my life.  My sisters always ganging up on poor little innocent Kenny!  And Mish probably actual has a recipe for this spell we're cooking up, she will be first to admit she may be part Witch.

Today was more touristyness.  We went to the Museum of Natural History at the U of U then to the Salt Lake City Arts Center, and ate at Hires!  It was a good time.

After the quality time with my sisters I stopped by Clete and Greg's to wish them well on their European Vacation, and then went down to Matt and Lisa's to see the Noyes family.  Such a good day, got to see almost all my favorite people in my life!

DAY 182 - Static at the Drive-In

Its a little tradition in our family to go to the drive in when everyone's in town.  During the summer when I was in Jr. High we were at the drive in at least once a week or more... That's how I was able to see Pretty Women 17 times, the majority of those viewing were at the drive in.  Tonight we saw Up and The Proposal.  When we first got there we tried to get the sound to come through on the assigned station, but it was just a mixture of the movie and X96 and static.  We were able to find the audio for every other movie around us, I think we even intercepted Hitlers olympic opening ceremony address from 1939, but we couldn't get out own movie to come through.  We saw some other people struggling to find it too, they ended up moving and then seemed to be fine.  So we moved the car over a few feet and the signal started coming in.  We parked the car opened up the back and started getting set up, then the static returned.  Blame it on sunspots, or swine flu, but it wasn't working for us.  We tried moving again, all we had to do was move the car a few inches and it came through loud and clear.  Finally we were able to watch the movie static free!  Too bad we missed the first 15 minutes of Up, I have no clue how why he got Up, but as long as it doesn't last more than 4 hours he should be fine.

DAY 179 - Art in the city

Today we got some culture in, we went to the Salt Lake City Art's Festival.  It was a good time, however I don't have a spare 10k for a rusty metal junk skeleton, it is what I've always wanted, I'll have to save up for next year I guess.  There were some things a little more affordable I would like to have.  I need to start collecting some original art, I'm not a fan of all my home decor coming from Target.  I'm suppose to be a little more artsy than that.

After the arts fest, we drove around a little bit, Mish wanted to go find one of her friends old houses in the Avenues, then we drove up new Ensign Peak and took some pics.  My sisters have lived in Utah most of their lives, but for some reason they wanted to pretend to be tourists this trip.  Its OK with me, I love hanging out in the city.

Saturday, June 27, 2009

DAY 178 - Tastes Great...Less Filling!!!

Today was my works Lagoon Day, I brought Kelli along to enjoy the fun that is Lagoon.  We ended up not going until later on in the evening, it was perfect!  Lines weren't too long, and it wasn't too hot.  I love Lagoon even after all these years.  My favorite ride is the Tidal Wave for some reason, and it has to be ridden at 10:30 right before the park closes, so you can jump off, run around and ride it again without waiting in line, and you have to be on the very back row...these are the rules of the Tidal Wave.  We even tried to get things going with yelling "Tastes Great!" as the other side is suppose to respond "Less Filling" but apparently the kids these days don't appreciate a good beer commercial, they had no clue, but it brought back great memories.  Loved today!

Thursday, June 25, 2009

DAY 176 - Lets get together, yeah yeah yeah

YAY, we're all together again!!  So lets check out what each other are doing on Facebook!!  Kelli got in tonight, I went home after a late, late night at work... didn't get off til almost 9pm... It sucked!!  I was so excited to see Kelli, when I got home this was the sight, everyone sitting around staring at their laptops.  So much for interpersonal communication.  Who needs to spend time in person, we can just update our status on Facebook and it saves on airfare.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

DAY 172 - Papa's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  And mom's birthday...  However, we've decided to wait for Kelli to get home to celebrate mom's b-day, and mom wasn't feeling so good today.  So we just celebrated Father's Day with a little steak barbecue, and of course any reason to bake.  I made lemon cupcakes with lemon filling and cream cheese frosting....yum!

Friday, June 19, 2009

DAY 170 -SISTA

YAY!!  Mish is here, picked her up from the airport late tonight.  She'll be here for a little over 2 weeks.  So excited.  Kelli will be home next week, we'll all be together.  There were never such devoted sisters!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

DAY 169 - Angels and Demons

Movie with Max... went to see Angels and Demons...  was pretty good.  Don't want to give anything away, but what's with that helecopter scene above the Vatican, kinda went a little too Sci Fi for me at that point.  But a decent movie overall.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

DAY 168 - Aint this the kind of wether for slappin leather

Alisa is a super star, she sang the national anthem at the Buzz game. After her little song I waited around for an hour for the game to start...only to realize the game had been going for 50 minutes.  Its so hard to tell with baseball.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

DAY 165 -

Lance, Nick, Me and Brandy having a little brunch at the Oaks up Ogden Canyon..

Then we got to sample some of the specialty drinks at th
e new and imporved Kaffe Mercantile.  So excited for those boys, such a cool little shop!  All craftsmany feel like Frank Lloyd Wright tossin' back some Chai!

Saturday, June 13, 2009

DAY 164 - Saturday is a special day

Today was a super saturday started off at Farmers Market with Brandy, then to Ruth's Diner for brunch...  A little disapointed in Ruths' makeover, it has turned into a Village Inn in a quaint location.  Strongly disagree with the vinyl booths and teal and tope decor.

I left my tamales I had ordered from a lady at work, in the work fridge.  I really wanted to have one for lunch, so I took a drive to Sandy to pick them up...  I didn't realize I would be risking my life in the scariest thunderstorm ever.  The rain was coming down so hard, all of us on the freeway, just gave up and stopped the windshield wipers just couldn't keep up.

Later in the evening Nick and Lance were in town and stopped by to say "hi."  We made plans for brunch and a preview of the coffee shop for tomorrow.

Friday, June 12, 2009

DAY 163 - Take a chance, Take a chance...

Friday night movies in the park...  Love Mama Mia, and so do the little boys, they can sing every song...  Too bad it has freaking rained on every outdoor event this entire summer.  I blame Al Gore.

Thursday, June 11, 2009

DAY 162 - WHOA Kelly Clarkson

Yay!  Kelly Clarkson concert... or a small selection of songs, don't know if it qualifies for an entire concert.  It lasted less than an hour.  But it was well worth it!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

DAY 161 - What's New Buenos Ares? Anything? Well good to hear from ya.

Hump day! Yay!  Today was a day.  No real highs, no real lows.  I did find out I made it into the ensemble of Evita...shocker!  Chatted on Facebook all night with Alane, so it wasn't a big surprise.  There are going to be amazing leads, I'm sure the show is going to be really good.  Its not done much, so hopefully people will go see it.

I was so unproductive all night, I sat on the computer and watched TV.  I was going to clean...didn't... was going to work on videos....didn't....was going to solve the national economic crisis.....didn't.  Why does being productive have to be so hard.

About 11:30 my friend Max texted me.  He had moved to Iowa a month or so ago, but things didn't work out so he's back here now.  He wanted to hang out.  And since I recently found out I would be in Evita I thought it would be good to go do some research with my authentic Argentinian friend.  ;)  It was a good time, we just hung out at Coffee Break til far too late, got home around 2:30 am, I'm such a wild one!

DAY 160 - Dancin, Dancin, Dancin

There seems to be a lot of dancin in my life lately.  I don't even know what that's about.  Tonight we watched Vegas week of So You Think You Can Dance...  I still am not sold.  Some of those judges are mean, for some reason the blond choreographer lady went of on this guy, who seems amazing to me, then they cut this girl who I though was TONS better than a lot of others they showed.  I don't get it at all, and only one of the tap dancing brothers made it...  It seemed like a lot of people had shocked faces tonight, there was some definite drama going on as some of the favorites didn't make it through, we all put on our best shocked faces to commemorate the occasion... I spent a lot of the time reading magazines off Brandy's coffee table.  I found a few new recipe's I would like to try from Martha Stewart Living, Pound Cake done 10 ways, Lemon, Strawberry Shortcake Cookies, YUM!!  All this dancing makes me hungry.

Monday, June 8, 2009

DAY 159 - The rhythm finally got me

I guess Gloria Estephan was right...the rhythm finally got me... Tonight was call backs for Evita, we had to do a short little dance combo thing.  I was really worried, I'm not what you would call a dancer.  But it was really easy, a few cross over steps a jazz square and some spins... I do that while walking down the street, this aint no dance number?!  After that we had to learn parts to one of the songs, then stand in a line and be the only person on the specific part singing, plus we had to learn two parts.  I did the baritone and bass.  Once again...I'm not a singer, I didn't do well.  But due to the fact there were only about 10 men there, I'm pretty sure I have a good chance... Who knows, maybe I shouldn't be so cocky about it.  To be honest, I'd be fine either way, Evita is by no means my favorite show, and there is nothing for me in it.  I'll be ensemble, which is fine, but I have more fun doing shows where there is a little bit of comedy.  I'm thinking maybe musicals aren't my thing.  My new goal is to go to one of the theaters downtown and try to get in to a play someday.  Don't know if that's really my thing either, but I've never done it.
After I got home from the call back, I walked over to Clete and Greg's and watched the season finale of Ugly Betty, never saw it, just gettin caught up.  It was a nice night for a walk, got sprinkled on a bit, but not too bad.  Once again... I'm going to miss living down here.  Hopefully I won't be gone long!

DAY 158 - Don't Rain on my Parade!

Today was the Gay Pride Parade in Salt Lake, it was just blocks away from my house, so I

thought I'd go meet Clete, Greg and Brandy to chec
k out the freaks.  I mean how often do you see giant chinese dragonesque condoms dancing down the streets of Salt Lake City.  It's sad that gay pride seems to focus on the weirdest, freakiest sector of the gay community.  But it is still quality entertainment.

The skies were really dark this morning but it wasn't raining when I left, as I started to walk it
began to sprinkle.  By the time I met up with everyone it was full on downpour.  The streets were flooded with water and sequins.

After the parade we went and looked around at the festival.  It was pretty boring, just more like a trade show.  Just a bunch of booths advertising something.  One of my favorite booths, however was the "Temple Squares" an all gay Square Dancing group, gives new meaning to the   allemande.

It was nice to see a lot of "normal" people there, people had kids and families.  I think that's really cool.

After the festival I went home and tried to take a nap, to no avail.  I keep hearing about these Sunday afternoon naps people enjoy so much, wish I could be a part of that world, they never work for me.

Then I met up with Clete, Greg and Brandy again to go to a barbecue for John Carlisle who got married a while ago.  There was some good food from Sugarhouse Barbecue, but it was kinda cold and drizzly, pretty sad, but a nice time overall.

To top off the day it was the Tony Awards!!!    Watched part of them with Clete, then went to a little Tony Party I was invited to and watched the last little bit.  Made me want to go to New York really, really bad.  I wanna see West Side Story, Hair, Next to Normal, Billy Elliot and 9 to 5... See a 5 day trip and I could get them all in.  I gotta figure out a way to make it happen.

Well it was a packed full day, was nice to be busy and have some fun...Now the dreadful work week is looming.... only 3 full work weeks until the 4th of July!!!
